What is happening in Apex City: the extensions -- whole new ways to play the city you built -- the street events that give you somewhere to go, and what is coming next. The same posts appear in the game under Menu → News.

One city, two looks: Poly and Realistic City

Update · 27 September 2026

Version 0.4.0 gives the whole game a clean new Poly look, on every device. Want more? The Realistic City extension switches everything, from the buildings and the cars to every citizen and the Mayor, to full photoreal detail, and the Store tells you first whether your device can run it. It is included with VIP. Also new: twelve rebuilt citizens, a Mayor’s Residence with its own garden, garage and living room, and City Hall and the police station you can tell apart at a glance.

Street events: somewhere to walk to

Event · 20 September 2026

Street events are the reason to go down to street level. There is nothing to grind and no token to collect: something is simply happening on your roads while the event runs. A parade along your own streets, a night market in the plaza, fireworks over the skyline. Each one appears in Events with the hours it runs in city time and a button that takes you straight out onto the street on foot -- or by cab, if you have Taxi Ride. Three are scheduled over the coming weeks.

Taxi Ride: see the city from the back seat

Extension · 20 September 2026

Taxi Ride is an extension, in the Store under Expansions. Hail a cab anywhere on the map and it drives you through the city you planned -- in real traffic, on your own road network, stopping where your junctions make it stop. A city looks different from the back seat, and badly planned roads feel different too. Like Walk in the City, it works in any city you visit.

Walk in the City is free for everyone

Event · 20 September 2026

Walk in the City costs nothing, needs no account and is in the game now. Open the menu and choose Take a Walk: the camera drops out of the map and into your own streets at eye height, on the roads you laid, past the buildings you zoned. It works in your city and in any mayor's city you visit.

Extensions: new ways to play the city you built

Update · 20 September 2026

An extension is not a decoration or a pack of coins. It is a whole new way to play the city you already planned. The first two are here now: Walk in the City, free for every player, and Taxi Ride. Every extension we add will be announced here first, and every one of them is something to DO in your city rather than something to own.

What is an extension?

An extension is not a decoration or a pack of coins. It is a different way to be in the city you already planned. Walk in the City is free for every player and needs no account: the camera leaves the map and drops into your streets at eye height. Taxi Ride puts you in the back of a cab that drives your own road network, in traffic, stopping where your junctions make it stop. Both work in your city and in any mayor's city you visit.

Street events are when to use them. Nothing is collected and nothing is grinded: a parade comes down your roads, a night market fills a plaza, fireworks go up over the skyline. Each one shows in the game under Events with the hours it runs in city time, and a button that puts you on the pavement.

Extensions are bought in the game's Store, under Expansions, through the app store you installed from. See the refund policy, or get the app.
